Varsity – Earl Marriott Mariners 0 at Blaine Borderites 65
The Varsity Mariners were in tough versus a very strong Borderites team and didn’t help themselves with un-forced fumbles deep in their own end on four occasions, all four resulting in Borderites touchdowns. Blaine led 14-0 after one, 42-0 at the break, 56-0 at the end of three and scored a touchdown and a conceded safety in the fourth to make the final score 65-0.
Asecond quarter injury to starting quarterback Byron Ruvalca forced Dean Meurrens, who had been the Mariners top receiver to that point, to take up behind center. Despite the circumstances Meurrens
executed the offense

well and put in a gutsy performance, other notables for the Mariners were Restum Shakiri, Curtis Fenwick, Yousouf Berete, Rhys Koldingness, Sam Baird and Anthony Mayer
